Valanar ITI was established at Kuruvikulam by Tirunelveli Social Service Society (TSSS) in the year 1997, a social wing of R.C. Diocese of Palayamkottai to uplift the poor, needy, oppressed and economically marginalized people. To eradicate child labour, the primary aim of Valanar ITI, the affected children around this area were trained in technical education and were placed inside and outside India.

The child labour being alleviated and the need of the day being higher education for poor children Valanar Arts and Science (Co-Edu) College was established in 2020 with the moto “To uplift the poor”. Our college, situated in a rural area in Kuruvikulam Union, Tiruvengadam Taluk, Tenkasi District, Tamilnadu, is affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. Tirunelveli.
